So, what is StealthNAT?
The name essentially means “a stealthy way of performing network address translation, where “Stealth” refers to a service that is made available on the internet. With StealthNAT deployed, that service does not exist in any form that’s directly visible on the internet.
“NAT” is network address translation, and in StealthNAT’s case, it is a new, unique and patent-pending paradigm of NAT. It uses a custom algorithm and other information that is available in every internet packet to authenticate what’s legitimate and reject what’s not.
With “Stealth” and “NAT” together, and based on privileges associated with internet packets, the veil in front of a protected service is lifted so that a legitimate user can see and access it. Otherwise, the service is simply not visible.
